Google.org is the non-profit arm of Google established to “use the power of information and technology to address the global challenges of our age: climate change, poverty and emerging disease.”
They are involved in various fascinating projects including a drive to invest in small and medium-sized enterprises across the developing world and developing renewable energy sources that can produce electricity more cheaply than coal-fired power stations (Renewable Energy cheaper than Coal or RE<C).
