There are now millions of Facebook users playing with pointless and silly apps on the Facebook platform. You’ll be pleased to hear that some of the developers behind these apps are using them to support good causes by donating money made from advertising (and CPA) to charity. The Pink Ribbon app is one example: users download a toolbar which generates revenue, some of which is donated to charity. Another such app is the-not-so-lovely-sounding Poo Fight. The chap behind it – Dan Norcott of dandylogic – has used it to raise over £400 for Bowel Cancer UK. His philosophy is that

if you are getting money from “nowhere”, you might as well earmark some of it for a suitable charity from the off if you can, because it helps them and makes you look good into the bargain.

We salute you, Mr Norcott!
