<p>We <a href="http://lovelycompanies.com/2008/10/09/moo-caption-competition/">spotted</a> some time ago that MOO were running a little Christmas caption competition. Recently, they <a href="http://www.moo.com/blog/2008/10/31/winners-of-caption-competition-announced-and-limited-edition-pack-on-sale/">announced the winners</a> over on the MOO blog and released a special pack of cards with all the winning captions which you can <a href="http://www.moo.com/readymade/pack/620">buy here</a>.</p>
<p>Unfortunately <a title="Not a winning caption" href="http://www.moo.com/blog/2008/10/09/announcing-the-christmas-holiday-card-caption-competition#comment-5044" title="Not a winning caption">our entry</a> into the competition didn&#8217;t get us very far but some of the winning captions are very witty!  Congratulations to all the winners!</p>

Her talk was titled &#8216;Designing a web app with character&#8217; and if you are in the business of web apps then you really should <a href="http://ogn.s3.amazonaws.com/5-DeniseWilton.mp4">watch the video</a> and <a href="http://oxford.geeknights.net/2008/feb-6th/talks/DeniseWilton.zip">download the slides</a> as they contain plenty of tips on how to make a web app lovely!</p>
<p>While we&#8217;re on the subject of the character of web apps, check out the following <a href="http://www.intruders.tv/" title="intruders TV">Intruders TV</a> interview with <a href="http://www.zopa.com/" title="Zopa">Zopa</a> co-founder James Alexander who tackles some tricky questions such as how to build up trust with users. He also encourages entrepreneurs to ask for help as there are lots of people out there offering support you. A lovely thought &#8211; and I think he&#8217;s quite right.</p>
